Giving Back: How ApplicationPrep Reinvests in Students

At ApplicationPrep, we believe college access should be a cycle of opportunity — not a business model. That’s why, as a nonprofit organization, we’ve built our entire platform around a simple promise: any money that isn’t needed to run, grow, or improve our service goes back to the students we serve.

Here’s how it works:

• Every membership matters. Whether monthly, annual, or lifetime, your subscription directly supports the management, maintenance, and marketing of the ApplicationPrep and Scholarship Shark platforms.
• Fair compensation only. Our team is paid reasonable, mission-based salaries — not shareholder bonuses or executive perks.
• The “Excess Fund” commitment. At the end of each fiscal year, we’ll calculate our excess funds — the amount remaining after covering all operating costs, technology improvements, and modest reserves for sustainability.
• Then, we give it back. Those funds will be redirected in two ways:

               1. Student Scholarships: Direct awards to our members pursuing college degrees.
               2. Partner Support: Grants to nonprofit organizations that align with our mission of making higher education accessible and affordable. Each year, we’ll publish a brief Impact Report showing our revenue, expenses, and how those excess funds were distributed — because transparency builds trust, and our community deserves both.
